If you are a flamenco lover and you are looking for a unique and exciting experience, don’t miss the chance to enjoy Manuel Cazás Peña performing Emotions at Teatro Flamenco Madrid, the best non-touristy flamenco show in Madrid.

Born in December 1976, this self-taught flamenco guitarist from Hervás in Extremadura has carved out a successful path for himself following his debut 16 years old becoming one of the most recognised flamenco guitarists in contemporary flamenco. His passion for the guitar and his ability to blend traditional and modern flamenco styles makes for a spectacular flamenco show which will take you to the deepest roots of flamenco while you explore new musical horizons.

Manuel Cazás: self-taught flamenco guitarist

Manuel Cazás Peña discovered his passion for flamenco guitar at 16, a little later than most flamenco guitarists, but his determination and innate talent pushed him towards success. Although he began to play guitar independently, his connection to flamenco was instant and deep. The guitar became his inseparable companion and when he was only 18 years old he decided to move to Madrid to perfect his technique and learn from the flamenco masters.

Madrid was the stage where Manuel Cazás began to carve out a career as a professional flamenco guitarist. Soon his talent would lead him to work in La Solea, where he had the opportunity to accompany some of the most recognised flamenco singers, such as Pansequito, Cancanilla de Marbella and Luise el Zambo. His ability to perform and accompany traditional flamenco singers with an impeccably precise beat and a deep sense of rhythm quickly turned him into a respected, sought-after guitarist.

A short time later his talent was to take him to the famous Madrid guitar school, Amor de Dios, a key place in the development of many flamenco artists. There Manuel Cazás became involved in accompanying flamenco dance, working with some of the best-known flamenco dancers in shows all over Spain. His ability to understand and complement flamenco dance with his guitar has made him into an outstanding flamenco guitarist who has played in some of the most famous flamenco shows in Spain and all over the world, including Teatro Flamenco Madrid.

Manuel Cazás: international flamenco guitar career

The recognition of his talent is not limited to Spain. Manuel Cazás has taken part in the most important flamenco festivals both nationally and internationally. His presence at Seville’s Bienal de Flamenco festival, the Festival de Jerez, La Unión and the Málaga Bienal festival has been highly acclaimed by critics. His skilled flamenco guitar playing crosses borders, taking him to such prestigious stages as the NN North Sea Jazz Festival, Womad UK, USA Flamenco Festival and the Flamenco Festival of Tokyo amongst others.

Manuel Cazás: flamenco collaborations and creations

Throughout his career, Manuel Cazás has been privileged to collaborate with an impressive list of renowned flamenco artists, such as Rocío Molina, Belén Maya, La Farruca, Pastora Galván or Manuel Liñan, for example. These collaborations have not only allowed him to consolidate his reputation as a flamenco guitarist, but also explore a new creative side, composing original music for flamenco shows such as Rocio Molina’s Turquesa Como El Limón or Entre Paredes, Mujeres by Mario Maya and Todo Cambia, a joint collaboration between Rocío Molina, Pastora Galván and Manuel Liñán.

Manuel Cazás: Flamenco Cazás Project

At the moment, Manuel Cazá is immersed in a new and ambitious flamenco project, the Flamenco Cazás Project. This project is a musical voyage that combines the essence of flamenco with elements of jazz and world music, creating a sound experience which alternates between traditional flamenco and contemporary flamenco fusion. It is a sample of the guitar as a universal feeling where every note sounds full of the depth of the human soul.

This project not only represents a new chapter in Manuel Cazás’ flamenco guitar career, it is also his debut as a flamenco guitar soloist, with the recording of his first solo guitar album. Flamenco Cazás Project is a manifestation of his artistic vision, that looks to take flamenco music to new terrain whilst maintaining its identity, offering a fresh new proposal, full of innovative rhythms and harmonies, leaving his mark in the contemporary music scene.
