Nerea Carrasco, up-and-coming flamenco dancer at Teatro Flamenco Madrid

Performing in Emotions, Nerea Carrasco is ready to captivate the audience with her impeccable technique and flamenco dancing creativity

Deep-rooted in Spanish culture, flamenco dancing is one of the most authentic and exciting expressions of national identity. In the vibrant world of flamenco dancing, Nerea Carrasco, a talented flamenco dancer from Madrid, is making her mark. At the moment, Nerea is preparing to wow the public at Teatro Flamenco Madrid as one of the cast members of Emotions, the most popular daily, live flamenco show in Madrid, and we are all looking forward to enjoying her performances.

Nerea Carrasco: a voyage of flamenco passion and dedication

Nerea Carrasco was born and raised in Madrid. From a very early age she showed a natural talent for dance, a talent which would soon become her vocation.

She began her training in the Royal Professional Dance Conservatory Mariemma, one of the most prestigious in Spain. There she not only perfected her technique, but also showed an exceptional dedication to flamenco, which led to her receiving an Honorable Mention, award reserved for the most outstanding pupils. Nerea knew that if she was to dominate flamenco she had to dive deep into the roots of flamenco and so she did just that by continuing her training in the Instituto Flamenco La Truca and in the Academia Amor de Dios.

Nerea Carrasco’s talent was soon recognised overseas as well as nationally. Her skill and passion for flamenco dancing led her to be called up as a solo flamenco dancer in the Arles Flamenco Festival in France, one of the most important flamenco festivals at international level. This highlight was a turning point in her career, consolidating her as an international flamenco dancer.

She has also formed part of the international tours of the Larreal flamenco dance company, performing in flamenco shows such as the International Iberian Contemporary Dance Festival in Mexico, the Baltic states and Russia. These experiences not only enriched her artistic experience, but also allowed her to take flamenco to audiences that may never have experienced the deep intensity and emotion that comes from the art of flamenco.

Nerea Carrasco: innovation and collaboration in flamenco

In her constant search to explore and expand flamenco, Nerea Carrasco has worked with many outstanding artists. She is currently working with the flamenco dancer and choreographer, Daniel Caballero, on a number of projects. Together they have created flamenco shows such as Influencias and Equilibrio, the latter is a flamenco show that tells their two stories, two different paths that meet on stage, feeding and complementing each other.

Equilibrio is the exploration of life and art where Nerea and Daniel experiment with different aspects of flamenco, searching to make their own way in a constant dialogue between traditional flamenco and contemporary flamenco. This flamenco show has been awarded for its technical quality and also for the emotional depth expressed by the flamenco dancers in every performance. Its success has led them to the semifinals in various editions of the Spanish Dance and Flamenco Choreography Competition, recognising their talent and the originality of their flamenco shows.

Nerea Carrasco is, without a doubt, one of the best young, up-and-coming flamenco dancers in Madrid. Her talent, combined with her constant search for perfection and innovation has meant that she stands out in the demanding world of flamenco dancing. The next challenge for Nerea Carrasco will be to perform on stage at Teatro Flamenco Madrid where we can enjoy the passion and skill she brings to Emotions, the most popular daily live flamenco show in Madrid.
